this is the final product. the oilstone, which is used for flatting and honing chisels and plane blades and what not, is not seen. i showed the main areas for planing, which is what i had the hardest time with. the top of the box i only used a no. 4 plane.
it cuts extremely accurately but you must apply the same amount of pressure and then it will actually cut smoother than you could ever get sanding, it is fairly tiresome but extremely effective. to get the bottom cut exactly how i needed it was pretty difficult to accomplish. we use a spokeshave. you should know that i hate spokeshaves. this is how you properly and most effectively hold and use a spokeshave
this allows you to properly angle down into the cut to smooth out the hollow. with this device you must push harder and it takes even more control than the other plane but is also extremely effective, pending it is sharp and flat. however, i do have a bit of a said story.
that is the lasting effects, a blister that i got 7 days ago, that is finally starting to heal and harden like the rest of my skin. so the first time using a spokeshave really left its mark on me.
